What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting freezes fat cells to sculpt away stubborn fat from waistlines, thighs, hips, upper arms and chins. Patients who undergo CoolSculpting say their clothes fit better and they feel better about themselves and how they look.
CoolSculpting is a safe, non-invasive way to reduce the last few inches of fat that refuse to disappear despite dieting and exercise. The Food and Drug Administration has approved CoolSculpting equipment for these treatments, and after more than 3 million procedures, the technology has proven to be safe and effective.
CoolSculpting treatments are administered in our Colorado Springs office, and because the process involves no surgery, patients can return to their daily routines immediately after treatment. There is little-to-no downtime, and no need to schedule extended time off for treatment or recovery. Instead, save that vacation time for a tropical getaway. You’re going to want to show off your new slim physique in a bathing suit.
How does CoolSculpting work?
Fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than surrounding tissues. CoolSculpting technology delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. There is no effect on surrounding skin, muscles, organs or nerves. Only fat cells under the skin are targeted and only these fat cells are affected. As the fat flushes out of your system naturally, dramatic results can be seen after about two months. Wait until your weight stabilizes and you have finished breast feeding. CoolSculpting is intended to target exercise and diet-resistant stubborn pockets of fat; so you’ll want to allow yourself enough time to get to your baseline weight before starting CoolSculpting. Once there, CoolSculpting can help.
Many of us have stubborn fat despite diet and exercise.
CoolSculpting® technology uses controlled cooling to target and kill only these fat cells.
In the weeks to follow, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells.
CoolSculpting procedure results can be long-term, as the specific treated fat cells are gone for good.
Does CoolSculpting make me lose weight?
The number of fat cells in both thin and obese people is more or less set during childhood and adolescence. During adulthood, about 8% of fat cells die every year only to be replaced by new ones. As a result, adults have a constant number of fat cells, even those who lose a lot of weight. Body weight increases or decreases depending on the amount of fat within fat cells.
CoolSculpting actually reduces the number of fat cells in the treated area. Those fat cells are gone forever, but your weight typically does not change. CoolSculpting clients who achieve the best long-term results combine their treatments with a sustained healthy diet and regular exercise.
At your free in-office consultation, Springs Body Sculpting in Colorado Springs partners with you in developing a treatment plan tailored to fit your body, your goals, and your budget.
Your CoolSculpting Day
Unlike other treatment options like liposuction, CoolSculpting takes very little time and is simple to fit into your daily life. There’s no need for anesthesia or needles, and there is little-to-no downtime or recovery time. Each treatment lasts about an hour – the same time you might spend at the gym or watching a TV show. So you can easily fit your treatment into a lunch break or on the way home from work. We tell our clients, “It’s your mini-vacation. A time to get away. A time to relax and rejuvenate.”
And in a few months, you’ll be able to say “Hello” to the new you!

Who Can Benefit from CoolSculpting Fat Reduction?
One of the first questions patients at Springs Body Sculpting ask is “Is CoolSculpting right for me?” In fact, because CoolSculpting is a non-surgical process, it can safely benefit adults of all ages who want to reduce/fight back against love handles, muffin tops, and extra fat around the thighs.
Does CoolSculpting really work?
In 2013 a review of the largest, most comprehensive review of cryolipolysis to date was published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal (ASJ) which is a peer-reviewed international journal focusing on scientific developments and clinical techniques in aesthetic surgery.1 ASJ is the official publication of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and numerous other major international societies of plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery representing South America, Central America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
The study involved over 500 patients with nearly 3000 (three thousand) treatment cycles and concluded:
“Cryolipolysis [CoolSculpting] was highly effective at reducing subcutaneous fat volume and was associated with few adverse events: only three cases of mild or moderate pain/neuralgia – all of which rapidly resolved.*”
Lead author, Dr. Grant Stevens who is a Clinical Professor of Surgery, Director of the Aesthetics Division of the University of Southern California stated: “With careful treatment planning, proper applicator placement, and multiple treatment cycles, cryolipolysis [CoolSculpting] can produce results comparable to those of liposuction.*”
Moreover, the Editor-in-Chief of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal Dr. Foad Nahai, MD, responded: “This is an important large study which confirms the safety and efficacy of cryolipolysis [CoolSculpting].**”
